Atty. Panelo pinagbibitiw sa pwesto si Sen. De Lima dahil sa pakikipagrelasyon sa may asawa

MANILA, Philippines - Pinayuhan ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Secretary Salvador Panelo na magbitiw sa pwesto si Sen. Leila de Lima matapos niyang aminin ang pagkakaroon ng relasyon sa kanyang dating driver na si Ronnie Dayan.

"The senator committed unlawful and immoral acts and opens her to a criminal charge of adultery her lover being a married man," pahayag ni Panelo.

Isiniwalat noon ng Pangulo na si Dayan umano ang bagger o tagakolekta ni De Lima ng pera mula sa mga drug lord na nagbebenta ng ilegal na droga sa loob ng New Bilibid Prison.

"It strengthens the case filed against her on her involvement in the drug operations. It opens her to expulsion proceedings in the Senate by the Senate Ethics Committee for immorality and grave misconduct in office apart from opening herself to a disbarment proceedings as a member of the bar for immorality and unethical conduct,”

“To save the Senate from further embarrassment she must voluntarily resign," dagdag ni Panelo.

"She has herself to blame for the present destructive predicament she is in. With her aforesaid admission President Duterte has been vindicated on his accusations against De Lima and put a lie to her pretended protestations of innocence and her cry of being a victim of persecution," 

Sa kabilang banda, pinabulaan parin ni De Lima ang pagkakasangkot niya sa illegal na droga.

"My record and my reputation have been untarnished until now because of all this unjust, unfair and false allegations and fabricated lies against my alleged involvement in the drug trade," pahayag ni de Lima.
